What is a direct vent furnace?

We need a chimney liner for our gas furnace and a contractor told my husband to look into a direct vent furnace because they are energy efficient and about the same price as the chimney liner. On google, the only results I am getting for direct vent furnaces are these little space heater looking things that you install in rooms. Can he be mistaking the direct vent furnace for some other type of furnace? (We have gas heat and radiators.)

Help with my babymama!?

So im 20 years old n so is my babysmama who i am no longer with and havent been since early 2009. My new girlfriend and I got our own place about 26miles away from my baby mamas and my daughter. The problem with that is that we do not have a car, so i cant go pick up or see my daughter as much as id like to.My babys mom got mad that i wasnt going to be able to see her as much, which i understood. But before i moved so far away my baby's mama and I had sort of a verbal agreement on when i can get my daughter. I told her that i would find a way to get my daughter whether i borrow a family members car or taxi etc. but if i go all the way out there, i better be able to get her. The reason i said that was because my baby mama is kinda....bitter and jealous...in my opinion, because I'm moving in with my new girlfriend and never did that with her. So anyways she said ok and nothing more. So i move about a week later and the following Sunday i asked if i can have my daughter and that ill go pick her up. She says yes i can have her but for me not to go to her house because she doesn't want me around that she'll come drop her off but I can only have her for about 6hours. Now this pisses me off because i didnt just want her for a couple hours but i agreed to it cuz 6 hours is better than nothing. But later on we get into an agruement over something stupid probably, i dont remember, but i ended up not getting her. I have only lived at my new place for about a month an out of 3 times i was suppose to get my daughter, i havent. I m getting really frustrated with my babys mama because she talks a lot of s*** ( and i talk back) about not doing anything for my daughter. Somewhat is true im not trying to look perfect. my daughter gets sick alot during winter so my babysmama is on top of her doctors appointments which i hate. she takes care of her alot more than me obviously being that shes doesn't live with me. but what else is mom thats 20 years old never worked a single day in her life, no education, and is NOT motivated to do anything to do? im not trying to put her out there but i dont know what else to do. She gets mad about stupid things that have nothing to do with my daughter. Like how i'm stupid and she hates me because i never wanted to be a family with her and blah blah, stuff that doesn't even matter now. In the end i don't get my daughter. I have a lot of flaws too. Ive only been working since December 2010. Before that, i haven't worked since march of 2008. But in between that i went back to school and got my GED and i was selling music online for a little bit of cash. was not a lot, but it help pay for diapers and bottle liners and whatever my daughter needed. Every dollar i have ever had, I earned. Any money that my baby's mom gets, is given. She threatens me that shes not going to give me my daughter anymore and that she's going to put me on child support all the time for the past 2 years that we haven't been together. I really dont care as long as i could actually get my daughter. But yet, she still hasn't and i think its becuase she knows she wrong. I'm a good dad! I'm always going to be here for my daughter and now matter how much "despise" my babys mom im still gona be here for her to. I never done drugs, don't drink, i don't go out! I work stay home with my girlfriend, and do music. I wish I had my daughter though. Anyways her excuses about why she's going to put me on child support and why im not going to get my daughter are because i cheated on her and that i call her names and put her down. But she does the exact same thing by calling me immature and i have my priorities mixed up when im the one with a job and place while shes pregnant by another dude and still living with her parents! I'll also admit that i do have anger problems. I have an assault charge and had to take domestic violence classes over the last year but it had nothing to do with her or my daughter. (i was protecting my mom and brothers from my stepfather) So anyways I want to know what i should? I want to try to fight for my daughter through courts but it makes us seem so immature as if we cant make arrangements on our own, but its obvious that we cant. So do you guys think i might have a chance with my assault charge? or should i try something else?

The restaurant I work at uses charcoal indoors, is this safe?

I work at a steakhouse that uses a charcoal rotisserie indoors. They do have a chimney like structure above the charcoal rotisserie but it seems like it might be clogged as the restaurant is about 20 years old. Do I need to line my chimney to install a fireplace insert?

I have a fireplace with a clay flue. Above the fireplace, below the damper is a heat exchanger to capture heat from the smoke and transfer it to the air blowing through the heat exchanger. The air flows into the heat exchanger from vents below the hearth and comes out above the fireplace after passing through the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger appears to be permanently installed, and a 6" liner will not pass through the heat exchanger tubes. Would it be okay to terminate a new 6" liner at a filler plate below the heat exchanger and let the smoke continue up the chimney just like it always has? Would this be a code violation? Do I have any other options, or should I just be happy with the fireplace I have?

Major jeep question.?

I have a 98 jeep wrangler that I payed $5,000 for back last fall. Since than I have spent $2,000 in repairs. Replacing a busted head gasket, and a blown rear differential. Neither of these were done by me they just happened. (like i wasnt offroading and broke them) Its a 98 tj 31x10.5 tires and a 3" lift kit. 2.5l 4cy. Now Im taking it back to the shot cause its really acting up. Ill find out tomorrow what the problem is but my question is to jeep owners. Im thinking my jeep has been "neglected" by the previous owner. Do I keep repairing it and spending money on it or get rid of it and look for another jeep. the furnace guys looked at the chimney and said that part of the terracotta pipe broke off inside the chimney and it is causing problems with the venting for the furnace. if anyone has any ideas on what would be the best way to fix this problem. Is it effective to burn wood stoves during very cold weather?

It has turned very cold (in the negatives without windchill) and we are wondering whether to light the wood stove as we normally do. I know that fireplaces can actually cause heat loss in the house in very cold weather. While fireplaces are going out, every ember, heat is drawn from the house up the chimney, however, I believe that wood stoves are better heat producers and with the doors closed it would not need to go out. My question is- Is it effective for heat production to burn wood stoves during very cold weather or would it be better to let the furnace run like crazy?

Trying to avoid secondhand smoke?

What is a direct vent furnace?

We need a chimney liner for our gas furnace and a contractor told my husband to look into a direct vent furnace because they are energy efficient and about the same price as the chimney liner. Wierd smell coming from my chimney that my pellet stove is connected to?

The last month or so ever once in awhile I will get a wierd smell coming from my chimney. I looked up and never saw smoke. Just a wierd burning smell. Then it would go away. I've changed pellets a couple times depending on who has them and what brand their carrying. I never noticed to see which brand is doing what. Now I came home from work and I can smell it and see some smoke coming out of it. Theres too much snow on the roof for me to go up there. What should I do? What should I look for? It was cleaned just before winter. I also burn about 1-2 bags a day.

Custom Jeep Paint job BED LINER?

i was looking at a Jeep in Texas ( I live in NC ) and it said custom black liner. I have an F150 King Ranch and im looking for a jeep, and as I was looking at the pictures, the more it looked like spray on bed liner. It had the grainy texture of a spray on and thats when I started looking into it, I cant find anywhere in the Southeast that does that and im not even sure if thats even what it is, Im trying to figure out if i just need to buy the custom jeep or see if i can replicate it myself with the same model jeep. Just let it go. The smoke going up is what it's supposed to do. If there is shield or door that covers the fireplace opening us it. However with the dampers open the heat from the house will also go up the chimney. Don't put anymore water on the logs if it gets to the brick it will crack them and you will have bigger trouble. You could wrap the log with a wet towel and toss the whole thing out into the rain. But be careful. When the fireplace stops smoking close the damper lever.

Older Heil gas furnace short cycles. Replaced limit switch, T'stst, etc. & still doing it?

I have an older (old) Heil gas furnace and it comes on and runs fine for about 3 minutes and then shuts off for about 2 minutes - then repeats. I've jumped the thermostat, checked the filter and the exhaust pipe/ chimney. I replaced the fan limit switch and the capacitor and it's still doing the same thing. I don't think this uses a flame sensor. I'm a carpenter so I apologize to the HVAC guys for not being able to afford to bring in a tech right now. Thing are just so slow for us right now. There should be a chimney cap. The cap has a roof-like cover over a gap that allows fumes to escape the chimney. Occasionally if these caps are not properly installed they will blow off of the chimney. Even if the cap is in place, it is possible to look up the chimney and see light.

Hot water heater vents?

I have a natural gas hot water heater. The vent goes through the sheetrock to the chimney. Well I know that I have to have some space between the sheetrock and the vent pipe, which is how its set up now. But I have approx 2 inch around the vent, and cold air coming in through the opening. I have looked online and at home depot for some type of flashing, but cant seem to find anything like a sheet metal to cover the excess hole. Any suggestions?

You could be simply dehydrated? Drink lots of water. It's only the lining of the womb etc that we shed, so it can be quite dark and gloopey sometimes. Regular, healthy eating though is good all round, so keep a check on that ;)

Say if you want to try the brand MAC, you just call them up and make an appointment. They will help you with everything and you don't have to buy a thing, unless you want to. They'll even write down the products they used, etc so you can buy one or two at a time, or do what I do--if you really like something they've used but don't want to spend the $$, just find a comparable item at Target, or another discount store. The mall makeup artists I've tried have always been very helpful and nice--just go for it!

I own a 2005 regular cab Colorado. I have a Kenwood Excelon deck and Memphis M-Class 6 1/2" door speakers and Memphis M-Class 6 x 9" speakers in boxes behind my seats. I want some extra low end, but I listen to rock and Indie music so I want it to sound good not rattle windows and make my headlights dim, I want it to sound natural. I have no experience with this kind of stuff, but a friend offered to install the stuff for me if I would buy it and bring it to him. First, I have about 350-450 dollars to spend. Second, should I get an 8" sub or a 10" sub? I am going to save money by getting one of those 25 dollar build it yourself non-ported truck boxes off Amazon, I would like to get the rest off of Amazon. I am leaning towards the Memphis M-Class 8" sub or a JL 8" 8w7 sub, but I still don't know what amp I should buy or what amp kit or whether I should stick with a 10" over an 8" sub. Dying my roots with a box dye (blonde! +pictures!)?

i've never had black hair but i have dyed my hair pretty much every other color so yes you will need bleach to cover the black roots. I'm sure a lot of people bleach then dye right away. BUT I would suggest waiting atleast a week, your roots surely won't grow back by then and it'll give your hair a little break. if your roots don't grow very fast, you could probably wait a month, that would be even better. ecspecially since you dye it every month & will continue to do this. But I'm not saying you shouldn't, I am pretty much the same way! Also since your bleaching the roots (and I would do the roots ONLY) you'll get a better color with the box dye after you let the bleach ease up off of your hair a little bit. Just be careful & use common sense when it comes to putting a lot chemicals on your hair. Obviously people lose hair without ever having dyed it so hair wasn't neccessarily meant to be bleached, dyed, stripped, and done again too much. Good Luck!! I think the color you have now looks good, it pops & stands out on you.

How can i remove a stripped bolt in my fourwheeler rim...?

I recently bought some new rims and tires for my fourwheeler and i have replaced all of them besides the front left wheel. The reason is because one of the bolts is nearly rounded it is so stripped, and i think it rusted on. i bought a stanley bolt out kit from sears, and i tried using it, but the #6 is to small to take off the bolt and the #7 is the actual one i need, but i dont have a big enough wrench to take it off. i need a 22mm wrench but i dont have time to get another anytime soon. what tools or methods can i use to remove this bolt? P.S. i need some tool or method that uses something to extend out from the bolt because i have no room to use a wrench within the dish of the rim.

i do have a total prolapse of all of my female organs due to giving birth to all 3 of my very big babies. i had it already with my first 2 babies, and then had a 3rd baby last May. now it is much worse. the doctor gave me a pessary to wear to help hold everything up, and it seems to be helping some. he also tied my tubes back in May right after my son's birth. since then i have had the worst periods of my life. i am going to be 39 years old in June, and i have never had as hard a time with my periods. one month it's barely even enough to be considered a period, the next it is horrible. i have to double up on pads, and if i do not change them every 2-3 hours i ruin my clothes. i am currently on my 2nd period this month, the 1st was around Feb 2nd, and lasted for maybe 2 days and was so light that a panty liner was all i had to wear. then the night before last i woke up with horrible cramps and noticed i was soaked, i went to the bathroom and i was a mess, and it was just gushing, and it's been like that since. now today i am feeling very light headed and weak. i have lost a lot of blood. the cramping is finally fading thanks to the excedrine that i took, but i am still bleed profusely. i made an appointment with my doctor but they did not seem to think this was bad enough to get me in immediately and made my appointment for March 5th. What i need to know now is can heavy blood lose like this cause me to be light headed and weak. i am here alone with my 2 little boys. my daughter is spending the weekend 2 states away with her dad so she is not here to help me, and my husband has to work all weekend. i am a little worried about being here alone with my boys. should i be concerned that i have lost so much blood and am continuing to lose it, and that i am feeling this way? what can i do to help the way that i am feeling?

I really don't know what it could be other than a possible light period starting. This i do know though the birth control pill does not work immediately after you start taking them you need to wait a month at least before the full effect i think you may have misunderstood the dr. I think you should take a pregnancy test in a month. Don't have sex for a couple days, and when u do use another means of protection for a while.

7 weeks after LEEP procedure (dysplasia)?

I am done bleeding from the procedure and had my first period since the procedure has been done.
