Why don't they actually make it look like Zwarte Piet fell down a chimney?

Instead of painting his skin AND CLOTHING black in blotches, his skin is painted black all over, he wears an afro wig and he paints his lips red, while his clothing is remarkably clean. If you say that it's just a coincidence and that this imagery is not based upon racist stereotypes, then how about Sinterklaas also being accompanied by two other helpers like Jewish Pete with horns and claws and Chinese Pete with bucked teeth and squinty eyes?
