Will a new outside ariel solve my problem?

If you have a high gain aerial on your chimney then the problem is most probably a bad connection/joint in your aerial cabling. I would re-connect each joint (dismantle then reassemble) to make sure there is no a loose wire. If you do not know if you have the correct aerial then you have no choice but to get an aerial fitter in to sort it out.
