I have a question about upgrading.?

I have a SR5413WM. I just recently upgraded to Windows 7 32 bit and was planning on upgrading my ram to 4GB's. I started wondering if i could just pull the hard drive and transfer it to a bare bones computer and still be able to keep all my files, and use the included hard drive with the bare bones kit as additional storage. If you have any other ideas i am open to suggestions.
