Loud upstairs neighbors?

All night my upstairs neighbors crash around creating quite a ruckus. It is so loud that often debris is caused to fall within the walls and down my chimney. Its always late at night and sometimes accompanied by shouts. I'm sort of freightened of the noises and don't know what to do. It keeps me up but sounds so violent I dare not interfere! What should I do??
