I want to start using tampons??? Advice needed?

Im not going swimming or anything. i actually have a cold so that something i definitely wont be doing this period but this is my 3rd period and i want to try. on my last ones i had hardly any blood. sit would take like 2 days to fill up a pad (don't worry, its just to show the amount, i did change them like 4 times a day) but today i got my period in school and this one seems to be larger. thank god i had the brains to put on a liner this morning otherwise there would of been blood everywhere. so i want to try. im 14 and do you think its okay if i do? any tips or tricks? thanks :)
